Christian Louboutin Goes Indian Style {Tuesday Shoesday}

Famous couture shoe designer Christian Louboutin brings us a special collection of footwear inspired by India.

All the shoes have typical Gujarati/Rajasthani embroidery and mirror work and come in both bright and subdued colors.

It’s great to see traditional Indian handicraft work put to use on non traditional articles of clothing, like shoes. So bright and intricate!

The only downside to these shoes is that they are made from suede, a leather product using cows’ skin. And it is disappointing as I wonder if Louboutin designers researched Hindu culture and the importance of cows or they ignored it. I would buy these shoes for a party but unfortunately not for my wedding.

Shoes are available at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Ave and other boutiques. Pricing varies.
