Shantanu & Nikhil are known for their flowy, dreamy gowns and lenghas. The 2012 collection warmed us with golds and brocade mixed into cinderella dresses.
This year’s show was more muted and understated but just as lovely. Peplums and wide boleros offered us something very different from the standard bridal collections for this year. Brides who would decide to wear these bolero-ish jackets for her wedding ceremony or Nikah, would certainly set a new trend of fashionable.
We enjoyed a move towards to the subtle styles rather than ostentatious opulence that has been the center of Indian bridal shows for years. You need a little bit of everything.
The most interesting piece by far was a tight red sherwani. A cross between a superhero outfit and pyjamas, you can consider your groom to be your hero or just insane.
Miss Canada, Sehar Biniaz, closed the show for the designer duo in a soft floor sweeping evening gown in blush pink with French Chantilly lace.
