Sonam Kapoor's Look at Cannes Festival 2013 - Nose Ring Hit or Miss?

May 18, 2013 - by Preeti

Sonam, whose love for vintage is well known, wore an antique white and gold creation by designer Anamika Khanna. The outfit was pulled together with a gold, baroque styled jacket.

For all of you dying to know about her makeup, here's the secret. Sonam wore True Match liquid foundation by L’Oreal. For her eye makeup, she used super liner black lacquer for the winged liner and gold eye shadow. Very Berry lipstick by L’Oreal and retro braided hairdo completed her look. I think we all agree that the old Bollywood look is in!

Perhaps what was most controversial was the bauble oversized nose ring. Some believed it was a distraction to her old Bollywood look while others thought she had something growing on her nose.

What is certain is that the nose ring has a life of its own. I am leaning on the love it side because it's different and refreshing. It pushes the boundaries of fashion without being obscene. And to be honest, these diamond styled nose rings are nothing new to tribal Indian culture.

So why not flaunt it?

Even Vidya Balan wore a gold hoop nose ring. Wearing a Sabyasachi, she wasn't her stunning self but she still was beautiful.

And on day 2 of the festival, Sonam wore a Dolce & Gabbana floral dress. She pulled off the pink rose floral pattern, though she was desperately close to wallpaper. Well, not Kim Kardarshian wallpaper dress at least!
