May 9, 2014 - by Preeti

I'm really excited that today we get to visit Glendale, Arizona for a lovely wedding. This a beautiful city that holds the backdrops of mountains and stunning desert landscape.

Mega and Tilak celebrated their wedding over four days on Thanksgiving weekend 2013. Wedding Coordinator and Red Book member Apropos Creations oversaw this lovely wedding.

We talked to Jo Ann Grant, owner of Apropos, to share the wedding details with us!

On the eve of the Saturday nuptials, the bride's family opened their doors to host a colorful Sangeet with their closest friends and family members. A desert mountain was brought to life with a projection of the couples' names, which provided the ideal backdrop for their night of music and dancing that could be seen for miles. Their custom-mixed "Mega-tini" cocktail was the talk of the bar.

The wedding morning began with rich silks of red and gold draped over a large indoor mandaap, at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa in Glendale, Arizona. Five pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen, a charming flower girl and ringbearer, ushered the bride and her father down a petal-covered aisle.

After the ceremony, guests were treated to a traditional Gujarati spread.

The party kicked off in the evening in the grand banquet hall. The bride and groom let loose for their entrance to Jay Z's "Run this Town," and later led their wedding party in a surprise "Harlem Shake."

Pinks, purples and crystals showered the tables and stage, where the new couple took their seats on a large silver chaise. Two family tables headed a diamond-shaped dance floor, with tens of round tables topped off elaborate centerpieces. Top 40 tunes mixed with Bollywood hits kept guests dancing through the night.
