Hello lovelies! Even though dark and dreary November is here, it doesn’t mean we cannot fall in love with a summer wedding!
Ravinder and Jasdeep had one of those English fairytale weddings. First married at the gurdwara, they then celebrated at the historic Wrest Park in Bedfordshire, England.
Isn’t this county estate just so dreamy?! The gardens (not pictured) are supposed to be stunning.
We chatted to Ravinder about the wedding and that lovely red wedding dress of hers.
Tell us about the wedding!
We had a traditional Sikh wedding at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Bedford, United Kingdom and a beautiful wedding reception at Wrest Park, Bedfordshire.
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
I was inspired by my favourite film, Father of the Bride. I always wanted an elegant white wedding in a marquee and my partners made my wish come true! To achieve the right look I chose vintage colours instead of traditional bright Indian colours.
What was the hardest part about wedding planning?
Both Jasdeep and I both have quite large families so it was difficult to please everyone. I think that was the hardest part about wedding planning.
Did you do any DIY (do it yourself) or special projects/things at the wedding?
I wanted to give our guest something memorable and unique as a wedding favour so I decided to make all 500 wedding favours from scratch. It was a lot of hard work but I think they looked really good and so many of our guests really appreciated them.
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
Our wedding reception was my favorite part of the wedding day. Celebrating our special day with all our family and friends after months and months of planning had all payed off because everyone was having such a good time.
What advice do you have for future brides/grooms-to-be?
Enjoy your day!!
Thank you for sharing. Wish you both the best in life.
