We’re back with another gadget review from our sponsor at Best Buy! Today is all about getting those shirts and dresses freshened up and looking spiffy.
The SWASH System is an in-home 10-minute clothing care system. The SWASH System will Dewrinkle, Refresh, Restore and Preserve your clothes so you can say goodbye to excessive washing, drying, steaming, ironing, and dry-cleaning, and say hello to living life unhampered.
Ummm yea, #winning.
This is one big item, because well, it is large! At 77 lbs and nearly five feet tall, the Swash is tall, long, heavy, but skinny. It is also a monster of a system that will clean your clothes (it doesn’t substitute a washer though folks) and get them dewrinkled.
Here’s how I look in front of it. Note: I’m 38 weeks pregnant so appear even larger than usual.
There are three ways the Swash (which is from Whirlpool by the way) helps you:
Saves You Time– Allows garments to look their best in as little as 10 minutes. So say goodbye to excessive washing, drying, ironing and dry cleaning.
Saves You Money– People who dry clean at least once a month spend about $758. With the SWASH system, you can cut your dry cleaning bills by 50%.
Saves Your Clothes– The SWASH system is gentle and doesn’t wash away dyes or cause pilling or fading, so you can actually extend the life of your clothes.
I threw in one of my dresses that has the habit of becoming super crumpled when coming out of the washing machine. Not to mention, it becomes a bit…sweaty…
How to use the Swash:
2. Get your clothing hooked up to the clasps. Without doing this, you’ll end with wrinkly clothes still. And I forgot to pull the sleeves to the side holders which meant they stayed pretty wrinkly, oops. Lesson learned.
4. Turn on machine at either the 10 or 15 minute cycle. I ran the 15 minute cycle.
5. Voila! 15 minutes later, see your dress not wrinkly. (Note: the lines from top-bottom is the style)
The one thing I can definitely see the Swash doing an amazing job is de-India’fying clothes. You know, you bring home a suitcase or two of stuff from India and it *smells* like India? While all the jeans and tops can go in the regular wash, it’s no fun taking saris and salwars to the dry cleaners. Instead, throw them in the Swash. Boo-yaa, India spice-street-dust funk be gone!
Dying questions you may have about the Swash:
The Swash requires a regular 120volt outlet. No special plugs and no plumbing. I was worried that I would have to set it up in some way, but nope, you just need an outlet and you are good to go.
Is the Swash for you? It depends, do you have nice shirts, dresses, or Indian outfits that usually go for dry cleaning? If yes, then a Swash is for you. If you don’t have any of these nice things heading to dry cleaning, then no.
Should I put this on my wedding registry list? Why yes, why not?! But, hopefully, none of guests actually *buy* it and bring it to you. Please have it shipped directly to your place.
Is my place big enough? For metro urban dwellers, you need to make sure to have a good amount of ground space to open the Swash door. It is also heavy, so make sure it is delivered to you (especially if you don’t have an elevator) and that the delivery in your area can get to your apartment if you live in a walk-up only.
You can buy the Swash at Best Buy and from June 7th, 2015- June 20th, 2015, get a $75 Best Buy Gift Card when you buy a SWASH System. Cost is $499.
Disclosure policy: We received a Swash system in exchange for a review.
