I love returning to the beautiful Grand Palladium Jamaica for destination weddings. Having photographed a few wonderful events there, it is familiar territory. However, I discover new corners every time and I see it with fresh eyes.
I was delighted when Anjali and Sam connected with me back in the winter and told me everything about their Indian and white wedding celebrations they were planning for this summer in Jamaica. It all sounded incredible!
Being there with them and their extraordinary entourage joining them from the U.S. and the U.K. kept me greatly entertained and inspired. Capturing their rich and colorful events was a joy in the moment. As a photographer, I have the best opportunity to tell their story the way it unfolded over the two days spent together.
Anjali and Sam live in Los Angeles and have successful careers in the film industry. With movie sets being their second nature, their attention to detail reflected in the way their events were organized. At times it felt as if I was watching a thrilling Bollywood movie, with music and dances that made me want to jump on the dance floor.
The weekend was full of celebrations. Lanterns were released into the warm night’s sky guarded by a shining moon. The next day debuted with Sam’s baraat (the horse lover in me was thrilled to photograph Sam with a gracious white mare), followed by an intricate Hindu ceremony, a white wedding on the beach at sunset.
