The Modern Indian Bride Meets Art Deco {Styled Shoot}

2016 Sep 29 - by Preeti
At the Enchanted Wedding Event 2016 in San Jose, California, we created an art deco Indian inspired vignette. It was amazing fun and just absolutely gorgeous. With photos from Shhivika Chauhan photography and design concept and styling by Chantal Events, you're in for a treat with art deco motifs meet India.

Susanne, founder of Chantal Events, shares the vision of the styled shoot.

The lounge at The Glass House in San Jose had grey floors and glass windows; a very clean look. Grey and Silver were selected as the main colors. Fine Linen Creations provided the silver drape for the background shaping and to cover the tall glass windows. The silver sequins added some bedazzle to the design.

The Lusso Chair (coupe chairs) by Dekko88 are just stunning. It makes anyone that sits in them feel like royalty. For the art deco elements we added chairs and coffee table from their Gio collection to the design.

The color red symbolizes love, commitment, strength and bravery in Indian culture. Most of the times brides will get married in a red gown. For this shoot Ava wore a Blue Gown with Gold accents. Reshme wore an ombre pink and red gown with jewel and blue accents. With that it was important to still incorporate the red color. A Velvet red loveseat provided by Dekko88 did just that.

Deep red florals, rustic orange florals, bright orange flowers, metallic vessels, gold elements were the accent colors to enhance the pop of color in the design. It was a beautiful contrast to the silver/greys.

To soften the overall look a little bit, and to add lushness to the design, I incorporated the green garlands by the entrance. This was a mix of seeded eucalyptus, bay leaves and eucalyptus, which added a spa essence upon entry.
