Chic Pink & Cream Bahá'í Wedding {Virginia}

2017 Jul 28 - by Preeti
Jessica and Ashish's first date was at Hubbard and Craven's coffee shop in Broad Ripple. They ordered the same drink - a white chocolate mocha (with foam - his; without foam - hers) and walked the Monon on a chilly Sunday afternoon.

They told stories about their childhood, families and travels and before they knew it, it was time to separate. He asked to continue the date with dinner but she had made backup plans with her friend to escape him if he turned out to be a lunatic (endearing herself to him even more). He asked her out on a second date four days later where they ate Thai food and watched the movie Interstellar.

Even though Jessica thought Ashish was more into the movie than her, it turned out to be quite the opposite. Thankfully, a third date happened and they fell head over heels in love with each other and have been inseparable since.

Sweet couple Jessica and Ashish had a week long wedding in India with all the groom's family and friends before coming back to get married Western style. Then, in Virginia, they held a Bahá'í ceremony that was officiated by a local group in Richmond. Since most of the guests at the Richmond wedding were not present in India, Jessica and Ashish shared a slideshow of highlights at the reception dinner.

We asked Jessica a few questions about their Bahá'í wedding in Richmond!

Did you do any DIY (do it yourself) projects at the wedding?

We had a DIY candy table that included a mixture of their favorite sweets and authentic candy from India.

The decor on the tables included bangles, that the guests were able to leave the wedding wearing a little piece of India!

What advice do you have for future brides/grooms-to-be?

Don't let the stress of the weather get to you! The best part of the whole day was that the rain came AFTER the ceremony and the sunset no lie, was the EXACT colors of the garb they were wearing!
