With President Obama in Asia last week, I thought it would be fun to do a Michelle Obama post.
The ever-so fashionable First Lady traveled to India with the President and participated in such activities as visiting the site of the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, offering floral tributes at the Mahatma Gandhiji memorial in New Delhi, helping celebrate Diwali at a local high school, and meeting — and dancing — with underprivileged children.
And while this generation’s Jackie O didn’t don any traditional Indian garb during her trip overseas (she did in fact pay homage to Indian culture by wearing designs by Indian-Americans), the good people at Rediff put together a poll asking readers which Indian-inspired fashion they would most like to see her in. Enjoy some of the images below:

Though I often feel there’s an imbalance between female and male fashion in political leaders, for me it’s somewhere between the “Bengali Sari” and the “Ethnic Jacket.”
