Hi all!
As it turns out, obviously, having a long distance wedding is a nightmare; especially when you are the wedding planner. On one end an Indian wedding means lots of people will contribute and host events and help organize the day to be. On the other end, it’s a nightmare because you don’t know who’s doing what!
I have nine days left in Sweden and I thought I would share my to do list (along with just finished items).
To do before leaving Sweden:
- Make gift bags – done (they’re white with stamps – will share later!)
- Make wedding guest album – I’m making an album with some of our best photos and around it, people can sign. It’s a better way than a traditional guestbook.
- Order love notes – done- I ordered adorable little lovenote cards from whimsywhimsical on etsy.com. These cards will be for the foreign guests to write something funny about love on them and put them in a box.
- Make a box for love notes to be put in
- Buy a new pair of shoes – looked to no avail, will shop in India
- Buy pharmacy essentials for a first-aid kit. We have 47 guests staying in two hotels (plus another 6 at other hotels) who have flown in from around the world. We also have three doctors so they’re taking charge of first-aid incase something goes wrong.
- Finish playing hotel tetris for 47 guests.
- Receive cool headpiece from etsy seller – waiting for it!
- Get a manicure, pedicure, and haircut – I know it’s way cheaper in India but immediately after I arrive I will be attending my cousin’s wedding. Time to get prim at home!
- Pack my suitcase
- Finalize with last minute guests on their schedules
- Print out all guest flight itineraries and make a binder
- Buy map for people to decorate at a meet & greet
- Relax
Phew! That’s long enough. Let’s hope I keep it together until next week.
