Wedding cake toppers are more creative than ever. From the yesteryears of simple flowers or a plastic topper with a bride and groom, couples today are choosing to express themselves through their topper.
This week’s Friday foto features photos from Flickr and Etsy, the best place on the web to buy homemade created masterpieces of whatever your heart desires.
Penguin cake topper
Owl Bride and Groom by Rosy Salazar, price – $16.00
Mr. and Mrs. Bear cake topper by Brandee Dent, price – $20.00
Crab and Crabbier? They’re just pinching your cheeks!
Opposites attract – Mr. Penguin and Mrs. Bear
All these cake toppers are made of fondant, an edible sugar. Fondant is great because you can eat it! And they can last for a year without refrigeration or freezing; keep in a cool, dark place.
Next time I’ll feature regular cake toppers (wood, clay, polymer) but fondant is just so artistic.
Mmmmmmmm… Who wouldn’t want a wedding cake you could eat entirely??? Fondant is so yummy and versatile!!
Fondant is fantastic! And those little statues are adorable.
do you sell the pair of crabs for a wedding cake, if so how much and how do I pay for them.
Thanks
Jackie
Hi Jackie,
I sent an email to the fondant designer who made the ‘crabby pair.’ Hopefully she responds soon!
