Everybody’s love to hate and hate to love former it-girl, Paris Hilton was in India. As it turned out she arrived the day I left. I didn’t see her at the airport though.
She was in India to promote the launch of her store at the Inorbit Mall in Mumbai. But left India saying “India is beautiful but some parts are very poverty stricken… broke my heart to see babies sleeping on the streets. What are the most credible non-profit (charities) in India? After seeing what I’ve seen, I want to help make a difference.”
I hope she does make a difference and not just blabber 140 characters for the twitterazzi.
Let’s do an analysis of her clothing and her prancing around in the country that is “spiritual and magical.”
First off, a blue pantsuit. I have nothing to say except one piece outfits should be outlawed. And ridiculous headband with gaudy necklace and a prison one piece makes you look like a hobo, not a fashion forward.
This outfit is better. Actually, spectacular. The turquoise leopard print dress with Native American beadwork (at least that’s what it looks like).
The highlight was giving a begger mother, Ishika, and her child a Benjamin. As in Benjamin Franklin.
Unfortunately the turnout of other beggers meant one, the lady’s brother in law, would cut it up into pieces. He did have a reason, other family members were assaulting her to get the money and being assholes about it. Sadly, their $100 did not go anywhere to help feed them.
Paris salamander pink sari dress was a beautiful color matched with an uncut diamond necklace but a bit lumpy. She looked more Roman than Indian.
Finally, nothing is complete without Paris shining herself off in a bright ivory sequined dress.
