When Lauren Bush, niece to former President George Bush, married David Lauren, son of designer Ralph Lauren, you would expect nothing short of gorgeous.
And by golly Ralph Lauren delivered. Her wedding dressed proved that wedding gowns with sleeves are not just elegant but hot too. Our own CWG wrote about it in To Sleeve or Not To Sleeve and she was right on the money.
Lauren Bush Lauren was stunning. {On a side note, I hope she keeps her maiden name so she doesn’t become Lauren Lauren. How silly would that look??}
The lace, the long sleeves, and even that native-American style band on her veil! I am so in love with her dress. Don’t you want to run off with it?!
This wedding proves that sleeves and cowboy boots are awesome. Plus they had a “rustic elegant” wedding in a 200 year old barn in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Talk about a beautiful western wedding.
The details of the most fabulous wedding gown with sleeves
- Made of richly embellished fabrics, the dress’s top layer is featherweight tulle in antique ivory.
- 100 craftspeople spent more than 3,000 hours hand-embroidering the tulle with delicate motifs of small flowers and Renaissance-era scroll designs in ivory silk.
- In metallic thread, Swarovski Elements crystals, and off-white pearl beads.
And what does this have to do if you’re an Indian bride? That wearing sleeves is just as beautiful as not. You shouldn’t be pushed into something you’re not comfortable or doesn’t suit you. It’s all about your self confidence and how you rock a dress.
