A bride’s shoes are her most prized possession. And her dress. And her bouquet. Okay everything is a bride’s prized possession when it comes to her wedding!
There are a lot of ways to take great photographs of your shoes. With furniture, with jewelry, in the outdoors, by themselves, and with the bride. I broke down the styles of shooting accordingly.
Shoes & Furniture
Use the furniture in your room to place your shoes. Hang the shoes off the dresser door, a chandelier, or even a vintage key lock. Or even place the shoes on a contrasting piece of furniture.
Just shoes
Sometimes shoes just need to be just shoes. If you have a fancy sole, like the Louboutin red or DIY designing, like “I do” or “love me” on the soles, take a photo. Use a reflecting table to get a mirror image of shoes. Because most high heeled shoes have design on both the heel and the front, you want to capture both; have one shoe facing forward and one facing backwards (heel to camera) to see both sides.
And sometimes the most elegant way is to shoot the shoes straight on.
Shoes & Jewelry
Brides want to remember their accessories. Mix shoes and jewelry together. Wrap around the necklace around the heel or drop a ring. Peep toe shoes can showcase both the bride and bridegroom’s rings. And earring can dangle from the top heel.
Shoes & the Great Outdoors
Having an outdooring wedding? Utilize nature and the sun to showcase your wedding shoes. Hang the shoes from a branch or place them on a tree trunk. Barbed wire can be vintage and daring and is a great background pattern. If you have view from the room, capture the cityscape in the background. Or even use the courtyard of your hotel/venue in front of a fountain, patterned doors, or statues.
The Bride & the Shoes
And of course, the most important are photos of the bride with her shoes. Perhaps a bit obsessive kissing them, you can always hold them or have a shot of them being put on.
Just so many ways to love a pair of shoes!

Oooh so pretty. I think my fave is shoes with furniture!
@Rubies and Ribbon – Me too! Especially the pink shoes on the distressed white dresser. Sooo cool!
