The Kismet Wedding Show was a couple weeks ago and we have some special photos for you!
Taken by Adnan Ahmed of AA Photography (get it?!) from Brampton, Ontario, he is an up and coming photographer. I love the strong, vibrant shots for the show.
All the lenghas and saris are by CTC West. I took a few minutes to bother Gaurav Sawhney, one of the founders, about this season’s fashion:
Preeti – What’s in for winter season?
Gaurav – We are starting to see an acceptance of the long jacket blouse with big gaghra lehengas.
Along with gaghra lehengas, there is the elegant anarkhali styled tops. These silhouettes, with big borders in the design elements, create multiple layers to feast your eyes on.
One of our favorite aspects of this style of outfit, is that there is space for a bride to let her midriff peek out a little, while the panels of the anarkhali (usually in net) still keep her slightly covered. This touch keeps the outfit classy and elegant, while still maintaining a pinch of ‘sexy’ for good measure.
Preeti – What are the favorite colors?
Gaurav – In terms of colours, we’re seeing more clients getting comfortable with soft pink and creamy pastels (and at the extreme left, pure white).
Navy blues and crystals are still in the mix as well for more dramatic looks.
We’re waiting for greens to start making their way into the spotlight next year.
Love, love, love!
Good brief interview with Gaurav. Very chic. Where can someone by these gaghras or lenhas?
