Contemporary times are mixing East and West, old and new, white and red. Unfortunately brides-to-be who want a red gown have limited options. Few wedding boutiques carry the color, and you can be hard pressed at even department stores for red gown style dresses.

Btw about the non-virgin red dress thing, the whole white tradition was only made popular when Queen Victoria wore a white dress similar to her baptism dress for her wedding. Before that, Christian brides could wear any colour including black to their wedding. In France, red was the traditional colour of wedding dresses and Mary, Queen of Scots was considered to be ‘breaking the rules’ when she wore white to her wedding instead. The traditional colour of virginity in Christianity is blue because that is what the Virgin Mary wore.
