Maram Azmat and Aabroo Hashimi are two Pakistani makeup artists and photographers who have made an international reputation for themselves in the world of high-end fashion. Their sleek, vibrant styles and expertise amongst a vast range of artistic ability led them to be valuable partners to other big names in the Pakistani bridal industry, such as Saadia Mirza and Fahad Hussayn.
The two own a fashion studio in Lahore, Pakistan, which is frequented by stars and top designers. They also expanded their business further with recent ventures into dermatology and salons.
The duo has expertise in runway fashion, still photography, bridal makeup, and even music videos! Maram and Aabroo have established themselves as truly versatile artists who can be consulted for any fashion needs – from a television advertisement to a photography shoot.
Here’s a collaboration of some of their best looks from the past few years:
Fahad Hussayn’s bright designs from his 2011 Carnival collection bring out the inner glamor of rustic life in rural Pakistan, with Maram & Aabroo’s radiant makeup and styling.
A stunning bridal shoot from Ayesha Imran’s collection. Everything from the bright chunni to the simple mehendi and makeup reflects more traditional attire.
Maram & Aabroo provided the makeup and styling for star designer Saadia Mirza’s 2012 bridal collection featured in the Sunday Daily Times, Pakistan. The looks are traditional, yet regal and beautifully bright against a rustic village backdrop.
The duo frequently works with Fahad Hussayn, a Pakistani bridal couture designer who is known for its modern, yet elegant designs. In this collection, the makeup is kept glowing, bright, and simple with touches of red in the cheeks and lips.
It’s clear that the artists like to keep their makeup exquisite, yet natural. While heavily playing up the eyes with beautiful metallic eyeshadows and highlighting cheekbones with subtle brown tones, the overall look achieved is elegant, never overdone.
Maram and Aabroo show off their flexibility in style and design by working with Fahad Hussayn, a designer known for his abstract and modern outfits.
Some of these outfits break traditional bridal wear and couture expectations with their use of primarily dark and metallic elements – but the duo proves that their makeup styling is versatile and can fit the needs of any photoshoot!
This particular steampunk shoutout is an ode to industrial glamour. The use of dusty coal grey eyeshadow and shimmery lipstick definitely highlights the mechanical lifestyle that this conductress probably maintains. But that doesn’t mean that masculine outfits can’t be feminized! Hussayn works with Maram & Aabroo to add a chic netted veil and jeweled eyepiece to the look.
The Lovers Void collection from Rabia Butt played up a darker side of “regal” with black dresses and gold statement pieces. Maram and Aabroo combined a bold and sexy ruby lipcolor with a clean smoky eye to create a sultry, extravagant look for the design.
Maram & Aabroo have definitely come a long way since opening their own small studio – it’s no surprise they are now internationally renowned and in high demand in the elite world of bridal couture. We really admire the entrepreneurship and artistic brilliance of this dynamic duo!
