I am so in love with this wedding. SO in LOVE!
Nadia and Adil had this dreamy, tropical inspired (I think tropical because of the flowers – but don’t expect paper drink umbrellas), nikah and valima at the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay, Florida.
All I’m going to say is that I love the use of flower earrings. FLOWER EARRINGS?! What is not to love about it? And the matching flowers in the hair? I swoon!
This wedding is just so cute. You’ll see the shoe fight and games and candy. I really don’t have words to describe it, and it’s a good thing that Carrie Wildes took such beautiful photos.
But enough talking, let’s hear the story!
Tell us about the wedding!
The wedding was a traditional Pakistani wedding. The Nikah ceremony that took place on Friday at my house was a Muslim marriage ceremony where as the rest of the events had more of a cultural touch (such as wearing red, henna, etc).
There are many special traditions that we tried to include such as stealing the grooms shoes, being fed sweets at the mehndi by family and friends, and hiding the groom’s name in my henna.
What was the hardest part about planning the wedding?
The hardest part of planning would have to be getting started and trying to set a vision. Once that is done, everything is much easier.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding?
It’s hard to choose one favorite thing. Spending the weekend with family and friends, seeing my vision come to life, and marrying my wonderful husband are just a few of my favorite things!
Advice for future brides-to-be?
The best advice I was given that I can share is to not sweat the petty and just enjoy. If things don’t go your way, it’s okay, just remember to enjoy all the great things that are going right. And enjoy every bit if it!
