Appetizers are probably my favorite part of a meal (after dessert, of course!) They’re small, but packed with flavor – which means I can eat lots of them without feeling as guilty! When serving appetizers at a large family event, like a wedding, it’s important to keep the food simple yet delicious.
These cream cheese and hummus rolls are so yummy your family will gobble them up quickly! Fortunately, they’re unbelievably easy to make – so you can produce a large batch to please your guests (and save time) at a moment’s notice.
Ingredients:
1 tortilla
3 tbsp. cream cheese (you can pick any savory flavor you like!)
3 tbsp. hummus (go crazy with the flavors here too! Just make sure the cream cheese and hummus flavors complement each other.)
2 tbsp. (about 10) small sliced olives
1 tsp. chaat masala
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours 5 minutes
How-To:
1. Lay the tortilla on a flat surface.
2. Spread the cream cheese evenly on the tortilla. Don’t forget the edges!
3. Spread the hummus evenly on top of the cream cheese. Try not to mix the two – the colors will look pretty swirled together.
4. Sprinkle olives evenly on top of the mixture.
5. Sprinkle the chaat masala on top of the mixture as well.
6. Fold the bottom corners in first. Then, carefully roll the tortilla into a large roll. Make sure not to disturb the contents.
7. Wrap the roll in foil and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the spreads to set.
8. Remove the roll from the refrigerator. Slice the roll into thin pieces horizontally. They should be about an inch wide.
9. Arrange on a plate or serving platter. Enjoy!
