Manish Malhotra kicked off the 2014 Lakme Fashion Week in style. Full of pastel shades, lace, and tulle, I felt like I was running through the fields in a Pride & Prejudice scene. With Mr. Darcy of course!
Manish stuck to mainly soft pastel hues, but he wove in a couple bright spots. Esha Gupta is wearing a long chiffon folded dress in buttercup yellow with a highlight of sky blue. Her back cut is geometric and well placed alongside the flowy style.
The SS/2014 collection of Malhotra’s features soft pinks, silvers, cognacs, and avocados. Plus plenty of embroidered patterns.
Can we all agree this is one of the most fantastic dresses ever? A bit Naeem Khan inspired too.
Sophie Choudary wore flare and flowy periwinkle pants with a patchwork jacket that reveals the midriff ever so slightly.
Manish gave us a taste of traditional floral prints common for spring collections. The silver-blue outfits are unique and refreshing.
Kangana Ranaut wearing an pink-white ombre sari. It’s light, airy, and floating on clouds. I just wish she didn’t have short hair, she looks about 30 years older.
Bollywood superstar Sonakshi Sinha wore one of our favorite pieces of the night, a black checkered dress. We just love the embroidered damask motif and the low cut back of the blouse. Hot red lipstick, and she just walked out of the 1940s.
