Happy Friday lovelies! Today is one wedding filled feature. There were so many beautiful photos to choose from, that we narrowed it to down to a mere 95 stunning Indian wedding photos. Yes, 95. Grab that cup of chai and get ready.
Puja and Nicholas got married at The Westin Hotel in Georgetown, Washington, DC. Their wedding was full of glamour, bittersweet moments, and an NFL Vince Lombardi trophy.
Yes, you read that right. Football loving grooms and gals, you must check this out. Puja surprised Nicolas with a groom’s cake in the shape of the Lombardi trophy because he is a Washington Redskins fan. (Maybe this season the Redskins will head to the Superbowl?)
Big thanks go to Red Book Member Working Brides Wedding Planner for their amazing efforts. I mean, check out these centerpieces with hanging flowers!
Tell us about the wedding!
We were married at Westin in Georgetown, DC in August 2012 and had two different ceremonies (Christian and Hindu) to incorporate both of our cultures and religions.
We had a bharat before the Hindu ceremony and all of our guests helped participate to start off that part of our day and had a blast! I wore a tradition white dress for the Christian ceremony and our evening reception but wore a custom made Lengha for the Hindu ceremony. Nick wore a custom made Sherwani for the Hindu ceremony and a tuxedo for the Christian ceremony and reception.
We wanted a fusion feel for our wedding and had a formal wedding and wanted a romantic/Bollywood feel for the evening.
Did you have any DIY?
Since we had a wedding planner for the entire wedding planning process and day, I would say most things weren’t that difficult but if I have to pick one, I would say knowing which vendors to trust and choose but our wedding planner was excellent in guiding us along the entire way with every detail and was very honest.
We created welcome bags for our guests staying at the hotel venue and also added a little personalized touch to our party favors with mini messages from us to our guests.
What was your favorite part of the day?
The entire day was my favorite but being able to finally enjoy all of the ideas, time and thoughts that went into planning our day was an amazing feeling. All the details were so well done by our planner and decorators.
What advice do you have for brides and grooms to be?
