Oh my lovelies, don’t we have a wedding for you today! This bride and groom had a double wedding celebrating their Hindu and Sikh cultures. They were married at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Yacht Club in Granite Shoals, Texas.
With a boat ride as the baraat, and the bride dressed in three outfits, this sweet wedding will sweep you away.

I’m so excited to share with you my big fat, two day Indian wedding out at the Horseshoe Bay Resort and Yacht Club. OK, so it was not my wedding, it technically belongs to my clients, Manvir and Aanchal. It was clear, right from the start, that family was the main focus of this wedding. Friends and family traveled from far and distant lands to be a part of this day. Initially, I was feeling a teeny tiny bit overwhelmed with the task of remembering who when with whom.
I quickly fell in love with the grooms grandmother, she was one of the warmest people I’ve ever come in contact. As I walked into the busy groom room on the morning of day two, she greeted my by saying “Ah, here’s the recorder of memories.” She later went on to greet me with a smile and warm hug every time we met. There is so much to say about the two days, but I don’t want to ramble on.
Aanchal, the bride, wore a total of 3 amazing outfits. The first was a bright colored sari for the Hindu wedding on day one. It was a beautiful mix of bright pink and purple with gold, hand stitched, beading. Her jewelry was equally stunning. Her bracelets were full of sparkle, but did not take away from the henna artwork on her hands. On the second day she wore a soft and subtle salmon colored outfit.
Manvir stepped up the wedding attire with his sweet orange turban, feather and head piece that covered his face upon his arrival to his baraat. Did I mention his arrival was on a boat with his full brood of men. They arrived at the pier with singing, dancing and a beating drum.
After the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony on day two, the family had lunch and Gretchen and I drove straight to The Bluebonnet Cafe to dig into a huge slice of cherry pie with ice cream a nice hearty and healthy square meal. Later in the evening Aanchal was dressed in an amazing white and blue wedding sari and Manvir shaved off his beard and dressed in a suit and tie.
We snuck out in the cold dark and squeezed out some bride and groom shots before returning to the party. We completed, what seemed to be, the 4th or 5th round of family photos and started in with the dancing. The seemingly quiet and reserved dentist couple decided to bust out some serious hip hop dancing as well as dancing from the bridesmaids, family and friends.
All in all, it was an amazing experience. I was so honored to be apart of such a fun family wedding!
