The Filmfare awards 2015 took place last week in Mumbai, and we all got a glimpse of the glitz and glam of Bollywood’s finest on the red carpet.
This year we saw a more varied look and style of dresses, reminding us of the Oscar’s 2014 red carpet.
Manish Koirala wore a bright pink long salwar kameez dress. It was fashionable and easy breezy.
Pallavi Sharda wore a red dress. I love the vertical cuts, very Alexander McQueen, but the full ensemble was plain. Sure that spiky purse was cool, but she needed some necklace/earring bling to really strut the carpet.
Evelyn Sharma wore a mango orange 50s dress. This isn’t the dress for everyone, but it is the dress if you have boobage. Definite red carpet look. She could have even gotten away with a long necklace to accent those curves.
Sonam Kapoor looked radiant as ever in a white deconstructed sari with multi-strand necklace.
Surveen Chawla was probably the only one that pushed the fashion envelop at the awards shows. I love it, it’s futuristic but functional, and something you’ll remember…in a good way.
Ilena D’Cruz wore a black dress with cape backing. Capes are *so* in fashion this season and we love seeing a Bollywood starlet wear one!
Madhuri Dixit sported a navy blue gown with horizontal flat ruffles. It is definitely a red carpet outfit, but perhaps not one of the strongest pieces to wear.
Kriti Sanon dressed up in a Gauri and Nainika mint green dress. Note to self: never ever wear a pastel color to the biggest awards show of the season. You don’t do it at the Oscars and you certainly shouldn’t do it at Filmfare awards. Pastels on rare occasions, can be stunning, but 95% of the time, don’t work for the red carpet.
I think she pulled a dress out of Barbie’s spring closet and put it on. Nothing is good about the ensemble.
I love Rekha, but her saris never photograph well. Brides and lovelies, here’s your lesson to learn: reflective saris will bounce light off of it. Camera flashes will make your outfit drab and tacky no matter how beautiful it is.
