Julia and Ace are both upstanding citizens of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where they met through networking at Harrisburg Young Professionals. When they fell in love and decided to get married in October 2013, they wanted their wedding to be held in their beloved hometown.
Hundreds of guests joined the happy couple to celebrate at the Harrisburg Hilton hotel – which was decorated with clean white decor with red and gold accents. The overall style was fusion, with bold Hindu elements like colorful clothing and mehndi and American traditions such as cake cutting and a wedding gown.
The reception, held in the same hotel, followed the same color palette as the wedding. There was a bright red wedding cake and an engraved ice sculpture to celebrate the couple.
Since she was a young girl, Julia wanted to wear a red wedding dress – and so she did! For her reception, she wore a flowing, red gown which looked fabulous as she floated across the dance floor.
Julia wore a traditional red and gold South Asian saree ensemble, complete with jasmines in her hair.
Ace looked sharp too, in a crisp white sherwani with a red shawl. He even wore a princely turban!
Julia and Ace followed Hindu wedding rituals for the actual marriage ceremony, involving them walking around the sacred fire and putting floral garlands on each other.
Congratulations, Julia and Ace! Thanks for sharing your beautiful wedding with us.
