Hello lovelies! Are you ready to travel to South Africa for a Hindu wedding?!
Our adorable couple Sunaina and her husband got married in Durban with close family and friends. Their love for Bollywood movies inspired them to theme their wedding around the luxurious royalty of Jodha Akkbar.
Tell us about the wedding
Our wedding took place in Durban, South Africa at the Coastlands Hotel in Umhlanga Rocks. We were both born and grew up in Durban.
We our wedding was done following, Vedic Culture and Tradition.
We decided to opt for a royal themed wedding, with rich gold tones for the decor and deep royal colours for our outfits.we chose to have an evening wedding, as we wanted loads of glits and glamour from the superb lighting features, the venue and decor offered.
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
Definitely the movie Jodha Akbar, I absolutely loved the classic, royal look and theme.
We both used songs from the movie, as our entrance songs ( bride : Jashn-e-Bahaara) & ( Groom: Azeem-O-Shann Shahenshah)
Our wedding outfits were also inspired by the clothing in the movie.
What was the hardest part about wedding planning?
My husband (fiance at the time) was residing in Dubai, while I was in Durban. The distance often made the planning difficult, when it came to things like choosing the decor and meeting our service providers.
We tried to practise for a wedding dance, unfortunately due to not enough time together to practise, the dance was cancelled; which I was a little sad about.
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
Our pre- wedding photo shoot!
What advice do you have for future brides/grooms-to-be?
Enjoy the planning!
