If you couldn’t already tell by now, I have a vacuum addition. Of all the house chores to do, vacuuming is my favorite. Thanks to the Best Buy Ambassadorship, we’ve had the chance to review some top of the line vacuums, including the iRobot Roomba 870 and Dyson V6 upright. And today we have the Samsung Powerbot Robot Vacuum.
Yes, oooo and ahhhh with me…
The Powerbot VR9000 is the granddaddy of all the robot vacuums. Even though it comes with a hefty price tag at $999, this monster will clean like no other.
Some of the benefits of the Powerbot VR9000:
- Extreme Suction – CycloneForce’s strong centrifugal force separates dirt and debris into an outer chamber. So it maintains suction power by keeping the filter clean with less clogging.
- A wide brush to clean larger areas with less movement.
- Comprehensive Scan – An upgraded, high-performance FullView Sensor comprehensively locates even very narrow or small obstacles across a wide area.
- Fewer blind spots – it can navigate safely around an entire room.
- Point and Clean – A Point Cleaning controller lets you guide it to clean dusty spots.
- Wheels that smoothly move over-Easy Pass wheels easily overcome most obstacles, so it will keep working while you’re not there.
- Visionary Mapping Plus System – finds and leads it around the optimal path for the fast-track cleaning. Using its 10 sensors and onboard digital camera it creates a complete map of your house and calculates the most efficient cleaning path.
- 7 Cleaning Modes – choose the best way to clean in different situations. It has four styles of cleaning, including auto, spot, max and manual modes, scheduling modes and a dust sensor mode.
Here are a few photos of the unboxing. I love that the box has a handle. Packaging well done.
And of course, nothing beats a video with a robot stalking one rabbit and being stalked by another.
When it comes to the vacuuming, the Powerbot does an excellent job of sucking up dirt, crap, and pet fur. We already vacuum everyday, but carpets just inhale garbage and you need a great vacuum to suction up everything, especially when you pet is shedding their fuzzy winter coat.
Plus, for the gadget nerd in you, the Powerbot has a remote control. This is by far the most amazing thing I’ve seen with a vacuum cleaner. A REMOTE CONTROL! Turn it off, turn it on, even have it follow the infrared marker; this is the best remote control for a household appliance.
Overall, the Samsung Powerbot VR 9000 is for the true gadget nerd who hates vacuuming and wants the luxury of something else doing the work. Retailing for $999 (though it can appear on sale on BB for as low as $799!), you can find the robot vacuum at Best Buy stores or online at www.bestbuy.com.
