A Bengali bride, a Gujarati groom, you know this is the making of a grand Indian wedding.
With vibrant magentas, oranges, and creams gracing the mandap and a purple Ganpathi in flowers, this was nothing short of dazzling.
Sheba and Harshil’s wedding reception featured an indigo wedding cake with royal purple decor accents.
Sheba shares her wedding details with us!.
Tell us about the wedding
They say every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. Our love story goes all the way back to high school where we first met.
We had been talking about our wedding for the last nine years, therefore each moment, every song, and all the decor was planned in complete detail. Harshil proposed to me in Paris, which became the theme of our reception and each table was a location in Paris.
We had a four day wedding starting from Mehndi, Sangeet, Puja/Haldi, Wedding and Reception. From my floral jewelry, drones, a confetti shower, a rose petal shower, ice sculpture with our initials, caricature artist, chocolate fountain, pedicab entrance, a life size engraved wine bottle, our fist dance in the clouds, our gorgeous decor, and the list goes on and on.
This was our happily ever after and we wish we could go back in time to relive these beautiful memories once again.
Could you tell us about any special wedding customs/clothing you had?
We wore tradition Indian clothing for all our wedding events. Our wedding was a combination of East and West Indian traditions since I am Bengali and my husband is Gujarati.
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
Our inspiration was love and Paris because we have been waiting for our wedding ever since we met in high school and he proposed to me in Paris.
What was the hardest part about wedding planning?
I think the hardest part was that we had a four day wedding. Therefore, there was so much planning required for each day which made it very stressful.
Did you do any DIY (do it yourself) or special projects/things at the wedding?
I actually found lots of Etsy vendors to created custom things for our weddings like a customized engraved life size wine bottle.
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
My favorite part of the weddings was during our vows when we both started tearing up because it was so special.
What 3 words of advice do you have for future brides/grooms-to-be?
