We are just tearing up thinking about how incredibly sweet this wedding we are featuring today is. I mean just look at this gorgeousness! We love simple, gorgeous backyard weddings like this one. The history behind the venue involves the groom buying an acre of land and a turn of the century house and barn in Los Gatos, California and restoring the property.
Bride Karol is a Peruvian and Japanese beauty and groom Shreyas is Indian. Their wedding blended traditions from both the groom and bride’s backgrounds.
Shreyas sent us some background to his wedding. We are excited to hear more about it from him!
We met only a few months ago while I was traveling in Peru on vacation. As part of the Indian customs, we had a ceremony in the morning to tie the string and then during the wedding ceremony we exchanged garlands. The ceremony was in in front of the pool.
After the ceremony, they entered the reception held on the patio with dancing in the barn. There was the traditional Peruvian custom of a receiving line of guests on either side with Peruvian ribbon wands.
Perhaps the sweetest, most emotional part of the day was the inclusion of the bride’s daughter Naomi in the ceremony. Naomi also learned an Indian dance that she performed at the reception.
Congratulations Karol and Shreyas! What a beautiful wedding.
