I never knew it would have been possible to last through my bean’s first year. People say parenting is the toughest job you will ever have, and I, happily and in delusional, never believed it.
How wrong I was. Parenting is the most difficult job in life. Caring for someone who has total innocence and dependence on you, yet trying to foster their own individuality is intense. Add to the mix their developing personalities and literally unfused neurons, making them emotional unstable, wears a parent down. Especially moms.
Moms are worn down creatures. Pregnancy is magical, but motherhood is a war – the plethora of battles to ensure your offspring survive and become good citizens.
Our first birthday photo shoot for bean was a delight, even with a baby meltdown. We brought together the amazing team that did the Indian pregnancy photo shoot and fitted to a smash cake shoot.
I cannot thank enough the team of talented wedding professionals who put this together. We all were able to take off our wedding hats for a moment and do something silly but stylish! With that said, styling was led by Janelle at Creative Collaborations. The colorful flower arrangements by Amy Eimer. That blue and bright pink marbled cake created by Bay Area cake artist Ma Petite Maison Cake Design.
We were even able to photograph at the magical historic house/venue The Lighthouse at Glen Cove.
And the photos by Marin based wedding photographer Fancy Fig Photography.
