Poonam, wedding planner at PoonamMayankSharma shares their adorable Hindu wedding with us.
When you find your perfect match, all that’s left is to plan your dream wedding. Juhi, who has always been obsessed with all things handmade, and whose mother is a Crafting Queen, was determined to have a very intimate and DIY wedding. This cozy and personalized wedding touched everyone’s heart.
This Kannada girl and Punjabi boy believe in living life to the fullest and their wedding is an expression of their belief.
The Planning
Having traveled and resided in various locations, they wanted to have their wedding where they have their ancestral origins – Mysore. This city of palaces makes for a perfect destination wedding. The challenge for the families was to create a personalized Indian wedding staying in Dubai.
Having a past association with PoonamMayankSharma, they brought us on board for executing their ideal wedding. The couple wanted a personalized wedding with a closed group. With the mindset of creating a unique experience for the selected guests, we started our preparations. The wedding was planned at Silent Shores resort.
Juhi and her family wanted a very low-key Mehendi ceremony with just close relatives and friends in the resort. The decoration was very bright and bohemian with meenakari umbrellas and colourful pots. The environment was complemented with 90s Bollywood music.
Cocktail
With white roses and baby breath, light fabric and warm lighting all around, the cocktail event resembled a countryside party along the poolside. It was a very warm and fun event with DJ Martin playing the hit tracks. The bride and groom were looking elegant in indo-western outfits.
Wedding
Belonging to different cultures, both the families decided to go for a Arya Samaaj wedding. The wedding was a very sober and eco-friendly event. The entire bride’s and groom’s family were dressed in traditional South Indian attire. The bride looked mesmerizing in a white Kanjeevaram saree and a bun with Jasmine flowers. The groom wore a white veshti with red kurta.
The day time wedding was immediately followed by an evening reception. It was a formal event with a hearty food menu and drinks. The event was planned in a lawn with white paper lantern decorations. The bride looked beautiful in a lilac gown and the groom was dashing in a classic tux. The event was complemented by a band playing classic English songs.
The guests were given personalized gifts in handmade boxes, and the concept of eco-friendly wedding was maintained throughout with zero wastage and pollution. Everybody left the venue with some sweet memories and unique experiences.
Thank you for sharing this sweet wedding!
