What happens when you’re an event and wedding planner and you’re planning your own wedding? Well, nothing short of amazing!
Khadejah, of her namesake company, had a Pakistani wedding in New York City. From the dripping crystals to her stunning red wedding outfit, you’re in for a treat! Let’s hear what our bride has to say.
I started planning my wedding long before I ever got engaged!
As soon as we got engaged, I started putting it down on paper right away. I knew exactly what kind of wedding I wanted, exactly which vendors I wanted and they did an excellent job!
A traditional Pakistani wedding in New York but with all the traditions incorporated. The wedding reception had a navy blue & ivory theme. The only red that was incorporated, was my dress, my bouquet and the flowers on my stage – sparse but elegant. We had about 700 people at our wedding, which provided for plenty of logistical planning.
The Muslim wedding had countless details; the cake itself took me month to perfect, each tier was customized. The flowers, linens, & lighting made up most of the wedding. The henna, make-up & jewelry were the perfect & final touches to the entire look. My videographer, Huqa Live, came from Washington, D.C. – and wow, did they do an amazing job with all the special effects! The ring bearers entered in with the Star Wars. It was absolutely amazing and I rehearsed it with them hours before the wedding while I was all dolled up!
For the wedding photography, and because of certain limitations Muslim weddings pose – I wanted a female photographer who had the cultural sensitivity. We chose Rima Hassan from Dubai, Emirates/ She captured all three days beautifully and did a great job!
