Celebrated designer duo and couturiers Shyamal and Bhumika presented ‘A Parisian Symphony’ at Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2018. The collection showcases an enthralling blend of craft and colour for a beautiful night as the drama of autumn unfolds.
“The sky turns dusky, winds blow across the misty avenues, the birds bid farewell to the blooms of paradise. As dusk sets in draping a purple haze over the velvet skies, the lights shimmer like stars along the river, just for the night.”
The Fall 2018 collection by Shyamal & Bhumika is blend of craft and colour for a beautiful night as the drama of autumn unfolds. The intricately crafted collection consists of silk skirts with aesthetically interlaced botanical floral motifs, statement dresses in soft velvets with multi colored sequins and bugle beads, and magnificent sarees in flowing organza.
From deep wine to dark shades of green, twilight blue to seductive black the colours induce mystery. Intriguing techniques of gorgeous hand embroidery work on dramatic jackets mesmerise, as the designers’ muse gets dressed for the night.
Bollywood star Diana Penty said of the collection, “I have always been a fan of Shyamal and Bhumika’s designs. They blend traditional silhouettes with modern sensibilities which makes their designs perfect for the young woman of today. What I love the most is their use of colours, textures and intricate embroidery. I really enjoyed walking for them.”
