Designer Kresha Bajaj launched her brazen and bold fashion line Koëcsh online in 2013 – and it’s been a huge success ever since! Koëcshfeatures inspiration from Paris, London, and New York, where black is ALWAYS in. Her line features a heavy dose of black dresses, skirts, and blouses – but it’s pretty amazing how far Kresha Bajaj can go with one hue!
The 2014 Koëcsh collection blends together vintage concepts like dark colors and leather with futuristic elements such as sheer fabrics and sparkly embellishments. In fact, this show featured lots of sparkles – rhinestones, metal plates, sequins, you name it! Heavy jewelry and accessories helped to bring out the “glam-Goth” vibe in each piece.
While dark colors aren’t very “summer,” the collection’s heavy use of light-reflecting materials brings a definite shimmer to the entire line. From fun silver-beaded collars to sparkly cutouts and fringes, here is proof that you CAN go all-black and look stunning doing it!
Most notable on this collection was the showstopper appearance Sushmita Sen – who has been turning heads since she was crowned Miss Universe in 1994. Her fierce runway stance and boldness to rock any outfit better than a 20-year-old can adds an extra allure to Koesch.
This tight-fitting Little Black Dress might seem like an appropriate clubbing outfit, but Sushmita Sen makes it sizzling on the runway too. The lace-pattern on the cutouts adds a classy touch to an otherwise 100% edgy outfit. Plus, the sparkly fringe cardigan – which Sushmita bravely rips off – adds a fun and high-end fashion perspective. Not everyone can pull it off!
Koëcsh featured all sorts of black, daring, and skimpy clothing – which definitely stands out on the runway at an Indian fashion show for sure! I wasn’t a big fan of the short Spanx-esque shorts or the clingy material, but this black cutout gown is pretty impressive.
The cutout is coy in that it’s not too revealing, but the body-tight fit is a sleek and stylish aspect that Koecsh is proud of. The accessories truly make this outfit though – from the dangling statement silver necklace to the studded booties, the black is well-complemented. And the high collar embellished with silver beading is pretty cool!
Not all of Koëcsh’s designs looked like they were part of a rich Goth teenager’s closet – some surprisingly beautiful gowns and lehengas made an appearance too! I love this maroon gown with a lace midriff cutout – it manages to be classy and revealing at the same time.
The pink lehenga has a similarly stunning lace cutout – and a gorgeous fringed cape as well! The bright color and bold design makes for a very eye-catching outfit.
I love the pink and silver saree-esque outfit as well. From the delicate embroidery at the bottom of the skirt to the laced mandarin collar, the pale pink and dark silver toes the beautiful line between princess and rockstar.
We love that Koëcsh is daring enough to make an otherwise questionable outfit fashionable and chic – this dress doesn’t look like it’s been hanging off a Forever 21 sales rack, that’s for sure! Koëcsh is a bold, yet well-though out and detailed, way to bring European classic black into everyday fashion.
