What a happy and sweet wedding we have today for you lovelies!
Adrianna and Dustin got married in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. They had an intimate church wedding followed by plenty of dancing and cupcakes at the Murryville Hall.
Despite some major mishaps before the wedding (think dress + stain!), you just can’t tell that anything was going on with the bride. She is beautiful and happy and nothing was going to stop her!

Tell us about the wedding!
We got married at a beautiful church just down the road from our house at Sharon United. We had a lovely Christian ceremony. My uncle and Dustin’s family friend did a wonderful prayer over us during the ceremony. My mother represented our East Indian culture by wearing a beautiful blue sari that matched my blue orchid theme.
Dustin and I did an Irish tradition of physically tying a knot and had a beautiful poem about this certain type of knot and how it gets stronger the more strain you put on it. I also presented my mother and mother in law, sister and sisters in law and my bridesmaids with a necklace that resembles my engagement ring to symbolize the day together and all their help.
I did not see my husband until I walked down the isle where he looked at me with a look that almost stole the show. I knew I was walking down the isle to meet my best friend and partner in life. We also had East Indian and Mennonite dishes for dinner that seemed to be a huge hit. The food is still talked about today.
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
My husband is in the Canadian Reserves and I knew he would not want anything over the top or too elaborate. I picked a simple yet beautiful flower that I thought was also rare and used it as my color scheme as well as my decor. It was the center pieces to our table and my bouquet. We also scattered them around the tables with some candles. My wedding day coordinator did an amazing job bringing my vision to life.
What was the hardest part about wedding planning?
People seem to go a little crazy during a wedding, and it is not always the bride. I found myself saying goodbye to many friends in my life who could not be happy for us, but saying hello to many new and wonderful friends. It was a year full of change for Dustin and I. Not to mention I had my last final before graduating and starting practicum the day before our wedding.
Finding time together without having any wedding discussion also became hard. We felt like it took over our lives for the year of planning. Unexpected changes kept occurring during our planning such as finding a new church last minute or a minister who could marry us in that church. Things kept coming up, but Dustin and I made it all work out with the help of our loving and supportive friends and family. We made whatever happen work out.
Did you have any DIY (do it yourself) at the wedding?
Almost everything was do it yourself. Even our beautiful and delicious cupcakes were done by an awesome girl friend of ours. We were so lucky that so many people in our lives stepped up and wanted to be a part of our special day. From transportation to bartending and an awesome DJ. We have wonderful people provide services to make it a special and stress free day.
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
My most favorite part was during dinner. I got up and looked around the room and knew that Dustin and I were gonna make it to the end. Look how many people were excited to share in our special day! We know we have a ton of support whatever may arise. My other favorite part of the wedding was leaving that night with my husband to the suite. He had planned a special romantic night with the help of girl friends, who left the reception to set it all up. He full blown surprised me, which is something very difficult to do!
What 3 words of advice do you have for future brides/grooms-to-be?
relax, stand up for yourself, laugh
Any wedding will be hard to plan. It is going to be stressful no matter what. You just need to remember at the end of it all you are together and laughing a year later at all the things that went wrong the day of. They create character in a wedding day.
