Today’s wedding is a downright party. Ruchit and Roma look so perfect for each other as they smile and laugh their way from a dance-filled engagement to an equally dance-filled reception. We got the scoop on this non-stop crazy monsoon wedding from F5 Wedding Planners, the event masters.
“The day you meet someone who is your kind of crazy, you know you’ve found a soulmate. For corporate merchandiser Ruchit Shroff, it turned out to be Roma Gaba. Their first date was an expedition into each other’s world with a four-hour conversation. And, after, they both knew that they wanted to live out their dreams together.
They chose the Lalit Golf & Spa Resort in Goa for their wedding venue and gave us a simple brief: it was our job to ensure that everyone made everlasting memories.
Since Goa is synonymous with fun, romance and masti, we helped the couple plan a crazy-cool weekend celebration with a multi-cuisine spread, vibrant decor, bollywood music, and endless pool parties.
Guests were flown in and welcomed with a dinner party where they could unwind and get acquainted with each other as they danced to the tunes of a local Goan band. Some guests took a shot at beating the drum and one of them even danced on top of it!
The dress code for the Mehendi ceremony next day was chic resort wear so that guests could just steer towards the adjacent poolside for lunch and the pool party that followed. The pool side was done up with pop art installations, neon flags, drapes, canopies, a snow cone cart, and, most importantly, a floral-decorated truck with free-flowing booze – the bar in disguise.
The couple made their grand entry on a quad bike, and before long everyone dived into the pool and rain-danced the afternoon away. Even the gods added to the fun with a downpour.
The sangeet that evening was a bollywood-ishtyle dance fest with a performance by Jimmy Felix, band member of Aasma, a popular indi-pop band from the last decade.
On the wedding day, the groom arrived in a vintage jeep with his turban-sporting baraatis in a disco van. Roma looked incredibly beautiful in her Archana Kochchar lehenga for the traditional phera ceremony.
A few hours later, it was time for the post-wedding revelry. The grand red carpet entrance to the wedding reception featured Bollywood style posters on either side with the couple’s posing as the actors, lending the mood to what followed – a mock awards night!
The couple’s friends and family performed in true Bollywood ishtyle, courtesy choreographer Nisha Lulla. Ruchit and Roma then gave away the R&R Awards to their guests, with some quirky titles, such as Drama Queen, Sati Savitri and Joru Ka Ghulam. The party went on till way after the sun came up.
True to the brief, Roma and Ruchit’s mid-June wedding was a memorable affair.”
Thanks so much to F5 and Ruchit and Roma for sharing this crazy awesome wedding with us! It looks like it was so much fun.
