Our real feature today comes from Amara, the fashion blogger at Pink 2.55. She had a gorgeous simple but elegant white lengha and dressed it up with her mother’s jewelry. There’s nothing as emotional and special as being passed your mom’s collection.
Her wedding was at the Garrison Golf Club in Lahore, Pakistan. The chairs had a beautiful peacock feather velvet covering.
And the couple’s seating was full of white flowers and a rococo white sofa.
I chatted with Amara about her wedding clothes and style. She’s fabulously elegant!
What kind of wedding it was?
A very small intimate gathering of a few friends and family members. My husband and I wanted a small wedding because while we love weddings and the fun that goes along with them, we did not want to spend insane amounts of money on numerous functions that we wouldn’t really be able to enjoy.
Instead we had a small mehndi/dance party for friends followed by our small nikah ceremony. At the end we were both so relaxed that we ended up having a blast!
How you choose the clothes and jewelry?
I was on the lookout for a lengha for a while, I knew I wanted to wear something white or beige – as the traditional red isn’t my favorite. Plus since we were having an afternoon wedding, the red lengha felt too stark.
Instead, I opted for white; it’s unique and is always in style. My white lace lehnga is part of the Samanzar by Shaiyenne Malik collection. I fell in love as soon as I saw it! It was something different without too much bling and just right for me.
And the lengha bodice was turquoise with a pearl and dabka border, adding a bit of color and the right amount of drama to the white.
The jewelry was my mother’s bridal set; gold and rubies. I loved it from day one and she had been saving it for me. I felt it was perfect to wear on my wedding day and complimented my dress perfectly.
The wedding was perfect for me and my husband. We had a wonderful time without going broke for it either. Love!

What a stylish bride mashAllah! Her dress border is so pretty, and her jewelry and flowers in the hair are the perfect touch. PS, what a cool stage!
