Dear Mom,
I hope you don’t mind me writing here on the wedding site. Sometimes I feel that maybe somewhere/somehow you will read this.
And I wanted to reach out to readers who don’t have a mom anymore either. You are not alone. That I know that dark, lonely path we take when our moms leave us.
Today is Mother’s Day in the States (and in three weeks, Sweden). This is my first Mother’s day when you are not here with me.
When I was in India a few months ago, I was repacking and organizing my stuff in my room. I found two booklets I made in school, second and third grades, that were for you.
I would like to recite one of the pages to you because it sums up perfectly what I think of you.
“My mom is smart. She is very smart. She is also beautiful. My mom looks so pretty. She wears nice clothes. She buys me nice thing but I tell her she does not need to buy expensive things.
My mom is a great cook. I like her food alot.
I love my mom alot.
Happy Mother’s day.”
I love you Mom. You have made me one very proud daughter.
Always and forever,
betu
PS – To all the lovely readers out there, give your mom an extra hug and kiss. <3
