After spending all the time and money making sure your wedding lengha looks just right, it’s such a pity to just toss it into a closet or chest to just sit until you have a daughter of your own. There’s got to be creative and fun ways to recycle your gorgeous wedding outfit right? Luckily, we found some super fun ways to get the most out of what you wore on the most important day of your life.

1. Mix and Match – Mixing and matching is a great way to turn your wedding outfit into something new and different. Try out some color blocking, or a sparkly and glittery top to match the glitz and glamour of your original.
2. Anarkali is Your Best Friend – Newlyweds can turn their wedding lengha into a gorgeous anarkali, or suit. By attaching the skirt you wore for your wedding to a tailored blouse, a brand-new outfit is born!
3. Add or remove sleeves – If your outfit had sleeves, cut them off. If it didn’t, consider adding them. This simple move creates a completely different look. For example, if you go sleeveless, serious arm jewelry can be added.
4. Drape it differently – Just by simply wearing your lengha differently you can completely change its look. You’ll have a brand-new outfit without any extra costs. Score!

5. Sell it or rent it out – If you have friends who are getting married and want to save some serious cash, consider renting out your lengha or even selling it over to them. You’ll make some money and clear out a space for new clothes. It’s a win-win situation.
6. Store it for your daughter, niece or close friends – Keep your magical wedding day outfit safe in a chest in your closet or underneath your bed. Pull it out for your daughter or niece one day and watch their eyes light up at the beautiful, now “vintage” piece.
7. Try a long jacket instead of a shorter, midriff-showing choli – Perfect for ladies living in cooler climates, taking your bottom and pairing it with a longer jacket creates an elegant effect.
8. Turn it into a sari – Most bridal lenghas have accompanying dupattas. Why not take the dupatta and transform it into a sweet sari? It’s the perfect way to get more use out of your wedding clothing.

9. Do a Western style “trash the dress” – Many Western brides “trash” their wedding dresses by jumping into the beach, or having a paint fight or water balloon fight with their groom. You could always adopt the trend and trash your lengha at similar photo shoots.
10. Let it be – So you just can’t deal with messing with your precious wedding outfit. We get it! It’s a fond memory of that incredible day. If you just don’t want to change it, rock it at your next ultra dressy event. Just wear your hair down or wear little to no jewelry!
