Ah, there’s nothing like a gorgeous fusion wedding set in sunny Florida. Rad Red Creative brings us this spectacular Floridian fusion wedding starring Amrita and David.
Amrita and David chose March for their Indo-Caribbean and American fusion wedding to ensure perfect Florida weather. Their downtown Tampa riverfront American and Guyanese inspired Hindu ceremonies were so incredibly romantic. Bride Amrita wore traditional outfits for both, absolutely sparkling in red and gold for her Hindu wedding and then Western white for her American one. She looked absolutely breathtaking in both, with her dashing groom David by her side.
Bride Amrita told us all about her big day.
In the Guyanese culture, it is customary to consult your priest so he can tell you what days are considered “lucky”. My grandmother played a huge role in helping us secure our wedding date.
David proposed in our kitchen after I told him he would never propose. I jokingly told him he should use aluminum foil to make rings. I turned around and he was down on one knee. It was the perfect proposal because David knows I don’t like being the center of attention and wanted a very low-key proposal.
It’s so hard to choose a moment! I would have to say I have two memorable moments. David’s vows really moved me. I am so happy we chose to write our own vows because we really had the opportunity to express our love for one another. My second memorable moment was when my family saw me for the first time in my outfit for the Hindu wedding. I was so happy and proud that I had the opportunity to honor my Guyanese-American culture.
David even chimed in to add a few words: The most memorable part of the entire wedding was when Amrita first walked out in her Hindu wedding outfit. She looked like a goddess and I was choking back tears, unable to believe that this beautiful woman was marrying me.
Congratulations Amrita and David! Wishing you so much happiness and love in the years ahead!
