Another gorgeous wedding is on tap for you this morning! Grab some breakfast and enjoy this lovely wedding with us.
Today’s cute couple is Dunia and Buraidah, who married in March and celebrated their wedding with family and friends four months later in July. We had a chance to talk to Dunia about her big day. Take it away!
Tell us about the wedding.
It was a multicultural wedding involving both Sri Lankan and Palestinian cultures and Islamic traditions. Location was at Orchard View. The wedding was nature themed was composed of dinner and various styles of entertainment.
What was the hardest part about wedding planning?
The hardest part of the wedding was deciding on and then organizing the final guest list.
Did you any DIY (do it yourself) or special projects/things at the wedding?
The bride and groom and maid of honour made the wedding programs, designed the welcome table, the table chart, and thumb stamp tree. Our friends made us a baby slide show and funny video on their thoughts about the couple. We had a time slot dedicated for evening prayer (maghreb) together. As a wedding favor the bride and groom collaborated with a charity and made donations on the guests behalf.
What was your favorite part of the wedding?
Taking pictures before the reception, our wedding entrance with the Palestinian dancers and entertainment/speeches.
What three words of advice do you have for future brides/grooms to be?
Enjoy, compromise and plan it together!
Anything else you would like to add?
Enjoy this time as much as you can because it will fly by and all that’s left is memories so make them good memories. On the day of the wedding try and be as relaxed as possible and truly enjoy every moment because no matter how planned and prepared you are for the day in expected things happen so just go with the flow and enjoy your big day no matter what.
Can you tell us about any wedding customs/clothing you had?
The bride had traditional bridal henna on her hands and she wore the hijab. We had traditional Palestinian dancers and drummers who escorted the bride and groom to their wedding entrance and the dancers preformed a traditional afterwards.
Thank you for sharing your big day with us Duria and Buraidah! We loved it.
