We’ve discussed the fact that South Asian brides need to be careful when selecting shades of bridal makeup. What works for many American brides might not look right on brown skin – that’s why we’ve decided to create a list of blush shades that flatter desi skintones beautifully.
We suggest avoiding those cool-toned pale pinks that many brides favor – it might just wash out out beautiful complexions, which is the last thing a bride wants! These five shades work perfectly on warm-toned Indian skin. Give them a try!
1. Rose gold: It might sounds strange to wear a gold-hued blush, but trust us: this shade adds a gorgeous wash of color to the face. Rose gold is the perfect compromise between a pink flush and a golden glow. It is so perfect for South Asian skin tones. Try ‘Rockateur’ by Benefit Cosmetics.
2. Peachy pink: Pink and peach are both ideal blush colors, but when you combine them, the result is pretty fantastic. The peach tones are perfect to warm up the skin tone while the pink tones add a feminine wash of color. Try “Flowerchild” by Becca Cosmetics.
3.Coral: Trust us, a coral blush won’t look orangey or harsh if you use it on your wedding day. Coral has enough pink tones to keep it from looking too bright or intense, which makes it a lovely choice for the fresh makeup look. Try “Style” by Mac.
4. Nude: The brown, beige and golden tones in a good nude blush will too a fantastic job of livening up your complexion. You don’t need a pink blush to look bridal! This option looks very natural and adds a great glow to the skin. Try “Exposed” by Tarte.
5. Dusty rose: If you’re looking to stick to a classic blush shade, dusty rose might be a better option on your complexion than a “Barbie pink” shade. The medium depth of rose shades works well on Indian skin. This is a great, natural-looking option. Try “Rose Petale” by Chanel.
