And a Housewife (without the kids and without the rings…and marriage…more on that at a later date.)
And I’m not Indian….like…not at all. I’m pastier than the glue you used in elementary school.
But I come from Indiana (get it? har har…).
And I really like Indian food (a. lot.), Mehndi, Silk, Saris, Yoga, and my friend Preeti.
And I am sure I’ll really like you too.
Talking about weddings, girly things, cake, fashion, etc. Fun things. Things that my sambo is currently denying me because he doesn’t listen to Beyonce’s advice.
Now that I’ve done a ridiculous introduction on why I am probably not qualified to be writing for this blog, let me explain to you my purpose on here and some things I will be writing about.
I have a master’s in Costume History, specializing in 18th-century women’s clothing. Since I am assuming many of the readers on here are of Indian descent, did you know how fabulous Indian fabric was back in the day? Half of Europe outlawed it because everybody who was anybody or wanted to be somebody wanted Indian fabric. It was that ridiculous. Luckily Europe got over itself and realized that the Indian fabric was going to be imported whether they wanted it to or not.
But more on that later.
Finally, Preeti asked me to help and be a part of this blogging endeavor. I am a hobby blogger, and girlfriend has brought me up to the big time now. (Did you see the part where I said housewife? That’s code for unemployed…just so we’re clear.)
Anyways, I’m super stoked to be here and to learn more about fabulous Indian culture, get drool on my keyboard (saris=heaven), and live vicariously through all you girls who are getting hitched while my darling sambo (Swedish for ‘cohabitating romantic partner’) breaks into a cold sweat at the mention of the word ‘wedding.’ But not as bad as when I say, ‘babies.’ 🙂

P.S. I’m also making Preeti’s wedding dress…Oh, honey, just you wait.
Looking forward to more of your articles!
I love you – you and I are so similar! White, but LOVING Indian saris and their culture…talk to me!!!! Where is your blog link?
