If there is one Indian model who just knows how to rock outfits and style, it is Sonam Kapoor.
She’s one of those IT girls that can pull anything from classic styles to steampunk looks.
And when she attends weddings as a guest, she really knows to put together a unique and dashing ensemble.
I am nowhere near Sonam’s fashion sensibilities, so I made a list of three things that we can all learn from her. They are simple, easy to follow, and don’t require a couture budget the size of Lichenstein.
1. Mix classic and retro – Take this Delhi wedding that she attended. Retro round sunglasses with a kundan moti necklace. You can feel that Sabyasachi steampunk aura ooze out.
2. Updo the blouse – Another photo from her cousin’s wedding festivities. Check out the long top with sheer fabric. Perfect for sporting the tiny blouse but covering the flubby (as if she has any) and being unique.
At Ahana Deol’s wedding, Sonam wore a white sari with high top blouse. You cannot wear a necklace, which means you need a blouse that is the centerpiece. Create a blouse that shimmers in crystals and lace work and it will become it’s own statement piece.
3. Wear long sleeves + lace – We first wrote about wearing long sleeves a few years ago, and the style is finall mainstream. Sport a long sleeve lace top, with button loops in a cream or soft pink color.
These three fashion tips, grâce à Sonam’s style should you inspire on rocking wedding guest fashion. Whether it is your first Indian wedding or 100th, there’s always a way to make a statement.
